Coff-fu-fu-fu (A KHR Fanfic)
KHR Rarepair Week 2024 Prompt: coffee shop AU Word Count: 474 Summary: Haru never knew love could come with a cup of coffee. Pairing: Mukuro x Haru (6986)
"He works in a coffee shop." Haru smiled as she took a big bite of her strawberry shortcake. It was appreciation day again and she and Kyoko were having their monthly meet up to enjoy whatever cakes they wanted. The girls were hard working and deserved to splurge once in a while anyway, they were so busy usually they'd burn it all off in a matter of days.
"Sounds dreamy. Did you get his name?" Kyoko wondered who Haru's mystery man could possibly be.
"Not yet, but he has heterochromia and the coolest spiked hairstyle Haru has ever seen. And his laugh is just dreamy. I'll have to introduce you someday." Haru smiled. "Haru wants to get him to try on some of her costumes, he'd make a wonderful model, honestly."
"He models? Haru-chan, he must be gorgeous! You have to introduce me!"
Haru nodded and as the two chatted away and made their plans to introduce Kyoko to the mystery man, said mystery man prepared to go to work.
Mukuro loved sweets as well as he loved coffee. Becoming a barista was a path carved out for him. He might have fallen for a girl from Midori, but the Kokuyo school wasn't too far away and when Haru wasn't busy she would often stop in for coffee. She became a regular that he fell in love with.
Haru often stopped in for a mocha latte, extra whipped cream, extra chocolate. Mukuro knew her order by heart by now. Coff-fu-fu-fu was a local joint that housed the finest hot and iced drinks you could imagine at even more reasonable prices than Starbucks. While some locals like Gokudera didn't dare enter, Haru had no fears whatsoever of the place and by now had possibly tried every last flavoring syrup possible, her favorite was by far the mocha latte and sometimes Mukuro would throw in a chocolate owl that Haru just adored.
Plans made, she brought Kyoko in like she promised and sure enough there he was behind the counter, the man of Haru's dreams, pineapple hairstyle and all. "Ah, Haru. Here for the usual?" He asked and she nodded.
He prepared the drinks and cake and handed them over. Their usual exchange, except this time Haru had something for him. An owl shaped chocolate that looked like him with the same red eye and scowl. "Ah, it's cute. I'll eat it on my break later, Haru." Mukuro thanked her.
However when he went on his break, he almost cried as he bit into the hand made confection. It was pineapple flavored. Mukuro hated pineapple. But perhaps if he and Haru got to know each other a little better, he could tell her that one day when they were closer. For now though, he'd settle for making her coffee and talking to her on his breaks.

DPxDC Dead Tired Coffeeshop Accident
For one reason or another, Danny is now living in Gotham and working in a coffeeshop. For one reason or another, Tim frequents the same coffeeshop.
Now, both of them are honest to god messes who treat sleep like a grave enemy. Meaning they both survive on coffee, spite, energy drinks, and their respective hyperfocuses.
They don't even talk, really, they just see each other from time to time: Tim knows the barista who looks like he's been dead for weeks is named Danny, and Danny knows how to make Tim's Death Wish with his eyes closed, but other than that, they are just strangers who largely don't care about each other.
That is, until one time after his patrol, Tim comes to the said coffeeshop in his Red Robin gear. He doesn't even think about it, he simply needs coffee. He comes to the counter. He orders. His voice is tired and emotionless. He just wants his coffee and maybe stare at a wall for a few hours until his brain reboots. Danny takes his order without even looking at him. He has been sitting and staring at a wall for a few hours, night shifts are literally killing him.
They are both so done.
Red Robin waits for his coffee. Danny makes it almost automatically, his mind elsewhere. The coffeeshop is empty, save for them two. It's four in the morning. Nothing feels real.
Danny sets the cup on the counter.
"One Death Wish for Tim," he says out of a habit, not fully registering they are alone, and he doesn't need to do that.
Tim takes the coffee without thinking, nods a silent 'thank you'. Brings the cup up to his mouth-
And notices a glove on his own hand.
He is in Red Robin get up.
He freezes and looks at the barista, who is cleaning the coffeemachine. Danny, noticing him looking, also looks back at him. Did he make the wrong order? He knows Tim's soul, he's seen it a lot, he couldn't have mistaken him for anyone else, but maybe he forgot to add syrup?..
There's a domino mask on Tim's face. A vigilante domino mask.
They stare at each other. No one moves. No one blinks. The sun is rising somewhere over the city.
Tim takes a sip of his coffee. Danny goes back to cleaning the coffeemachine.
They never speak of this again, but Tim becomes a regular here in both of his personas.

Anna not wanting to burn her tongue on something that tastes like shit anyways is so incredibly valid. Life is too short to consume things that Taste Bad!!! Like what is the point of any of this if not to spark joy from what we put down the gullet!!!
RAPUNZEL AS A PASTRY CHEF, HELL YEAH, GOOD FOR HER 🥐🥧🍰🍩🧁🎂🍪 She'd be so good at it, too!! Imagining her frosting pretty little flower and sun and chameleon and lantern sugar cookies and it's giving me life ;____;
DYING at the thought of Anna confidently walking into her favorite local coffee shop like "yes I'll have my usual" and the new guy just stares at her from behind the counter like "...ma'am I have never seen you before in my life???" Truly the Horrors of customer service, but also??? There is Cute Girl, so it all evens out in the end!
Anna FINALLY being persuaded to order Actual Coffee at a coffee shop is so funny. Same Energy as when I ordered nothing but frappucinos from starbucks for years on end, until I studied abroad somewhere with no starbucks and suddenly??? If I wanted caffeine I in fact had to brave honest to god actual coffee XD Rite of passage for all sugary-drink-obsessed girlies tbh!!! Like even if it's just to see if it sucks, you gotta branch out XD
Imagining Anna pretending to like the World's Most Bitter Black Coffee to look tough and fearless to Hiccup XD And he's like "damn girl, you're a badass!" while adding extra cream and sugar to her drink when she's not looking XD He doesn't know how to convince her there's nothing shameful about liking your drinks more saccharine than a romcom, so he does the next best thing!
hI HEY it's been a year (lord, I'm so sorry Haru, I appreciate you so much ;______;) but I just gotta say that I am still so proud of Anna for weight-training with all those hearts 💖💖💖 They look very hefty and to be made of some kind of shiny, dense metal!!! Our girl is ready to charge into battle with the power of love, Arm Day, AND a killer right hook on her side!!!
Anna, are you wearing overalls again because you keep spilling gingerbread lattes and such on your cute pink and white shirts??? Girl I'm onto you 👀👀👀
THE QUESTION MARKS AROUND HICCUP'S HEAD AKJSDHCUKXYB CLUELESS KING Barista!Hiccup is so cute, too??? HIS COMFY SWEATER THO 💚💚💚 Give it a year and he's gonna be lending that to a certain ginger ;3
The orange and green backgrounds!!! 💚🧡💚🧡 We love to see the consistent color motifs!!!
This is so cute!!! I love it dearly ;_____; I continue to love the way you draw them, and how their hair always looks so sleek and shiny!!! And how if you zoom in, you can see all their lil freckles :O
Thank you for all your great submissions for 2023, and I'm hyped to start reblogging and gushing about your newest Hiccanna Month masterpieces from 2024!!! You're a hero for all you do for Hiccanna Nation 🍫🐉
(Now onto actually reblogging the submissions from this year aksjdhulbfhkushb)

H I C C A N N A
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock iii x Anna of Arendelle
It's a well known fact that Anna hates bitter food and drinks. Why would she burn her tongue away to such things? Her family knows it, her friends know it, hell, maybe even the friendly neighborhood cat that has been loitering around knows it. But when her favorite cafe [they have the best pastries made by her friend Rapunzel!] in the city hires a new barista, he's clueless as to what their regular customer Anna has to order. Most especially when she was left tongue tied from seeing him. And so, out of politeness, and maybe a little bit of excitement when she asked for his recommendation, Anna ends up with Iced Americano for the first time in her life. Needless to say, this ends up in a misunderstanding where Hiccup [oh no, even his name is cute for Anna!] thinks he and Anna have the same taste. Thus, resulting numerous amusing situations whenever Anna finds more excuses to stay in the cafe. What's a girl in love gotta do to keep his attention on her after all?

So this was inspired by the coffee shop au that really popular amount Danny x Tim Fics
So Jazz is off to collage, but the moment she passes the amity border, she trips the silent alarm and the GIW fakes a car accident. She’s never seen again.
Danny knows better.
Tucker temporarily disables the alarm so Danny can leave Amity Park, live his life and get help.
Danny is quick to find out that he can’t find Amity anymore. It’s in an entire blackout. He went to the location where it was last only to find entire entire town gone with no trace of even existing
Danny moves to Gotham and get the night and afternoon shift for a cafe and meets Tim Drake. They end up dating when they both turn 18 and the next few months are peaceful.
One night, Danny is on shift, it’s two am and he’s joined by Tim (and other bats if you want)
The door jingles open, and everyone is wondering who’s entering at 2 am.
Meanwhile, Danny is frozen.
It’s Ellie.
She comes up to the counter and orders like nothing it wrong and like she are Danny are complete strangers instead of siblings who haven’t seen each other since their older sibling went missing.
Tim is very confused. His boyfriend definitely knows the 16 year old that just walked in, but isn’t saying anything about her (Tim doesn’t know about the ghosts and stuff)
Danny give Ellie her order and she tell him that Jazz is alive and the GIW has her.
Danny and Ellie vanish from Gotham the next morning after Danny’s shift.
Any media is welcome as long as you tag and comment. I might even write the scene I described if you guys want :)))

:-“I was just getting my coffee, but then I fell in love with you” Coffee shop love prompts-:
By @me-writes-prompts
Going to order their usual order, but the other one puts their hand up and says, “Usual, right? I got it.”
Smiling and blushing even before they enter the coffee shop, because they were dying to see them again after seeing them for the first time yesterday.
“Hey! Can I have iced tea?” “Hmmm, I know you love tea. But, today, can I get you a coffee that I think you might like?” “Oh, yes!”
Accidentally spilling their coffee on the other on their way out
Ordering the same thing at the same time and then awkwardly laughing
^^”Guess I’m not the only one who likes my black coffee with a touch of vanilla syrup, huh?” “Yeah, weird but good.” “Agreed.”
Locking eyes across the room while they are both sipping their drinks
Having to sit at the same table because there is nowhere else to sit(there was only one table :)
Getting so used to meeting each other everyday for morning coffee that they miss them when they are not there.
^^"Where were you yesterday?" "Oh, I wasn't feeling well. A little under the weather, haha." "Yeah, it was quite cold yesterday. Are you doing better now?" "Yeah, yeah. Thanks for asking." "I…I missed you." "Oh."

Whump scenarios for a coffee shop AU: inspired by this post
Tyrannical whumper boss who forces rookie whumpee barista into more and more illegal and abusive situations (your favorite flavor).
Rich business whumper takes a 'liking' to whumpee and hires them as their private barista-- a job that entails much more than making coffee.
Whumper baristas kidnap particularly annoying whumpee customers, and keep them in the basement of the coffee shop to torment as stress relief.
Feel free to add on!

Leather and Cinnamon | Wolfstar Bingo
It's that time of the year again! The @wolfstarbingo2024 is here.
I'm supposed to be working hard on my Big Bang fic so naturally I instead spent the whole day writing 13k words of... well, this.
I've had this idea for a long time and I think I started it over a year ago, but now I finally found the inspiration to finish it (while also crossing off one of my prompts). So here it is.
Title: Leather and Cinnamon Pairing: Wolfstar Rating: E WC: 13.2k Prompt: One night stand Summary: Remus hasn't got laid in a while, but that's okay. That's fine. He's been busy raising a son, thank you very much.
Now, however, Teddy is off to university and when Remus goes to Brighton to drop him off, they stumble over a coffee shop in the south lanes. It's a cosy little place with a barista who has silver eyes and pale skin and an arse to die for.
Remus hasn't got laid in a while, but that's okay. That's fine.
Read on AO3.
Snippet below the cut:
“I’ll order,” Teddy said as they entered the coffee shop, nodding towards a table by the window. “You can take a seat.”
“Oh really?” Remus asked, a little amused. “You’re paying too, then?”
“Obviously not,” Teddy remarked casually. “I’m a poor student, remember?”
“Sometimes I think you just spend time with me for my wallet.” Remus sighed wistfully but Teddy merely grinned at him, snapping his fingers.
“Money, please.”
“Maybe I want to order,” Remus said, but Teddy was already snatching the note from his fingers.
“Please,” Teddy scoffed. “Like I’d trust you with my order.”
Remus looked fondly as his son sauntered off towards the bar, unable not to smile to himself. He honestly couldn’t get his head around the fact that he had an 18-year-old son who was now heading off to university all on his own.
It had felt bittersweet, packing up Teddy’s boyhood room. He knew the day would come eventually, and even though he was excited for his son, he couldn’t help but feel a bit sad as well. They had driven down to Brighton together, their old little car stuffed full of (almost) everything that Teddy would need for the coming few months.
They had spent the day getting his room in order before Remus decided it was time for him to head back home. Teddy had agreed to a coffee before he left though, and Remus was set on making the most of the time he had left with his son while he still had the chance.
The café they had picked was in the south Lanes and had a bright red door with rainbow flags decorating the windows. It was the name that had drawn Remus in though, Baskerville’s Hound written in bold letters over the painting of a big, black dog.
The place itself was cosy enough, with paintings decorating the walls together with black and white photographs of Brighton and random people. The walls were painted in a dark blue colour and the furniture was all mismatched and clearly second hand, but still in good shape.
Teddy returned without drinks, pulling out the chair opposite Remus and slumping down on it, shrugging as Remus raised a questioning eyebrow at him.
“They’ll bring it out,” he said, slouching back on his chair.
“Any chance you got a change on that twenty?”
“Sorry.” Teddy grinned at him, pushing a hand through his longish hair, currently a bright orange. Remus had long since accepted that Teddy opted to change his hair colour as often as other people changed clothes, and he enjoyed seeing him explore. “Consider it a contribution towards your only child’s education.”
“Ah, yes, never mind the 9K tuition fee,” Remus deadpanned. “It’s the change on the coffee that’s going to make the real difference.”
“I’ll need pocket money.”
The corner of Remus’ mouth twitched. “You need money for beer, you mean.”
Teddy threw his arms out. “It’s uni life, Da.”
Remus snorted just as the barista approached the table, clearing his throat.
“A latte with a dash of cinnamon and…whatever this monstrosity is,” the barista said, and Remus tore his gaze away from his son to the man standing next to their table.
Remus found himself doing a double-take at the sight of him. He didn’t know why he’d expected a student, but this man looked to be roughly his age. He was tall, muscular, with tattooed arms and wearing a simple white tee-shirt underneath a light apron with a large black dog printed on the front of it.
There was the hint of a stubble over his very chiselled jaw, high cheekbones and long, black hair pulled back in a ponytail. It was his eyes, however, that caught Remus’ attention. They were a light sort of grey that reminded Remus of silver, seemingly drawing in the light around them. They were dancing with something that looked like amusement as Teddy sat up excitedly.
“That’s mine,” Teddy said eagerly, reaching for the tall glass topped with a hefty dollop of whipped cream. “Cheers, mate.”
“I take it you’re the sensible one then,” the man said, the corner of his mouth twitching as he turned his gaze on Remus, placing the mug in front of him with a little wink. “Enjoy.”
Remus couldn’t help staring as the man walked away, gaze taking in the dark jeans and heavy boots.
“Earth to Da!”
Teddy’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts and he flinched, accidentally burning his hand as his coffee sloshed over the rim of the mug.
“Fuck,” he hissed, grabbing a napkin to wipe up his spill and when he looked back up, Teddy was watching him with a mischievous sort of twinkle in his eyes.
“You alright?”
“Yeah,” Remus replied quickly, clearing his throat as his voice came out weirdly rough. “Fine.”
“I said, are you coming down with Ma next week?”
“Oh,” Remus said, taking a sip from his coffee to distract himself momentarily. “Dunno, mate. D’you want me to?”
“You don’t have to,” Teddy shrugged. “It’s just cause she couldn’t be here this weekend.”
“Right,” Remus nodded. “I’ll be there if you want me to.”
Teddy waved it off, pulling his phone out of his pocket as it made a chirping noise.
“Don’t worry about it,” he said, eyes on the display as he quickly tapped out a message. “Aoife says there’s a group heading to the pub tonight.”
“That sounds like fun,” replied Remus as his gaze darted over to the bar, just briefly, catching on the man who was wiping down glasses and humming to himself, the muscles in his arms flexing. “You should go with them, make some friends.”
He only tore his gaze away from the man as he heard Teddy’s snort, and his son was watching him with an unimpressed sort of expression.
“What?”
“Make some friends?” he echoed, pulling a face. “It’s not pre-school, Da. It’s uni.”
“What?” asked Remus, a little affronted. “You don’t make friends at university?”
“No,” Teddy said assuredly. “You just…get to know people. Hang out.”
“Right,” Remus said, giving a solemn nod. “My bad. You should go with them and hang out then.”
Teddy rolled his eyes and huffed out a breath before he turned his attention back to his phone, and Remus pressed his lips together so that he wouldn’t smile. His eyes darted briefly back towards the bar, where the man was now stacking mugs.
It would be in Brighton where a random barista looked like he’d stepped right out of one of Remus’ wet dreams. He looked exactly like the type Remus would have been madly in love with when he was younger, and, it turned out, his taste hadn’t changed that much since then.
Remus hadn’t dated much in the past few years as Teddy was growing up. It wasn’t that it had been impossible, Dora had managed to move on just fine after their amicable split, and her dating life had never affected Teddy badly, he just hadn’t prioritised it. Ever since Teddy had moved in with him full-time when he was fifteen, Remus put his own dating life on a shelf.
Dora had told him he was being ridiculous, that Teddy was more than capable of handling his dad dating, and Teddy had even told him so himself. He’d even encouraged Remus to get out there, claiming that it would do him good to get laid. It wasn’t a lie, Remus knew that, but he had simply prioritised raising his son over hookups.
He knew it would be different now though, with Teddy off to university and Remus alone in their house. They had been joking about it, and Remus was happy that Teddy was starting his own life as a young adult, but he couldn’t deny that it would be strange.
He and Dora had been so young when they became parents. She had still been at university, and he had only just completed his Bachelor's Degree. He’d been a parent for all of his 20s and almost all of his 30s, it felt wild thinking that he was approaching his 40s with more independence than he’d had in a long while.
“Right, I gotta go,” Teddy said suddenly, his voice yanking Remus out of his thoughts. “Sorry, Da.”
Remus shook his head, smiling a little as he stood. “Don’t worry about it. Time for me to head back home anyway.”
Teddy nodded, watching him for a moment, his blue eyes searching over Remus’ face and he looked so serious suddenly.
“Are you sure that you’ll be okay?”
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?”
Remus couldn’t help but smile a little at the troubled look on his son’s face, the half-grimace as he gave a brief shrug.
“I’ll be fine, Da.”
“So will I,” Remus replied, smiling a little as he pulled his son close for a hug. “Don’t worry about me.”
“Can’t help it,” Teddy muttered against the crook of his neck before Remus released him. “I worry about you all alone in that house.”
“I think I’ll manage,” Remus said as he clasped a hand on his son’s shoulder. “I used to have a life before you, y’know.”
“Barely,” Teddy replied with a snort, the corner of the boy’s mouth quirking upwards as Remus swatted lightly at him.
“Oi, don’t get cheeky.”
Teddy laughed, seemingly unfazed as he leaned a little closer, stage-whispering, “You could always stay and chat up the barista, eh? I can see you ogling him.”
Remus had a horrible feeling as he was blushing as Teddy threw a meaningful look towards the man behind the counter and waggled his eyebrows suggestively.

well well well what's this another thing for the @destieldtiyschallenge? why yes it is, imagine that. this one's for you I'm afraid @j-k-t-e because your coffee shop idiots drawing with the horribly horrible bad effort requiring background just looked like fun so oh no I've redrawn it
Tumblr media
(here's the original drawing for reference)
Tumblr media
as predicted the background was horrible but in a weirdly fun kind of way. I think the hardest part might've been getting the sweaters right actually because my lines are so thick that it's hard to add a bunch of details. I did rearrange some things and totally didn't flip Cas' name tag upside-down for important reasons but yeah bam, coffee shop stuff
(also I know the redraw challenge is supposed to be coming to a close but I have a couple of projects for it in the works so I'm just gonna ignore that it's ending I think enjoy that knowledge (and apologies in advance for anyone that wouldn't want their art redrawn after the deadline sorry I'm slow and maybe took on too many projects they just look so fun and I have no self-control gjfkfifi))

Coffee Shop (Part 3)
Villain
Part 1 (Hero) / Part 2 (Civilian) // Part 4 (Superhero) / Part 5 (Vigilante)
"Mind if I sit here?"
Hero flinched, head snapping up from their scribbled notes. They eyed the newcomer before giving a stiff nod. Suspicion ebbed into curiosity as the stranger sat across from them. There was something...familiar, about the person.
Villain tried to stifle their amusement as they watched Hero go back to writing in their little book. It was clear their enemy didn't know who they were. Otherwise, they surely wouldn't have accepted the request.
Honestly, they hadn't expected to see the crime fighter here of all places.
"So...come here often?"
Villain smiled ever so slightly. There was an awkward quirk to Hero's tone. To anyone else it might have been convincing but Villain knew they were fishing for information. They decided to indulge Hero. Villain did come over to see what they were up to, after all.
"I do," Villain hummed. "I'd say I'm a regular at this point. I've never seen you here before. First time?"
"Yes, I, um. I decided to try something new today." Hero glanced away from them to scan the rest of the cafe. To think they would take their eyes off Villain so easily. They would have laughed if it wouldn't give them away.
"Oh? What made you come here, specifically?" Villain pried.
There was a glint of suspicion in Hero's eyes that no one else would have seen. "I heard the coffee was good," they answered vaguely.
Ah, a lie - though well hidden, Villain would admit. Who knew the hero was so good at acting? They'd have to remember that in the future.
They could see Hero gearing up to ask something else in return but Villain stood with an apologetic smile when their alias was called at the counter.
"It was nice talking to you. Enjoy your coffee." They excused themself with easy pleasantries, as if they really were just strangers.
Hero nodded idly and pretended not to watch them as they left.

Poison Ivy has one craving from her old life, a frappuccino from Starbucks.
She knows, they're unethical, you can't recycle your cup, the workers are not treated decently everyday (The Seattle Supersonics are in Oklahoma because of the owner)
But, when she was in college, it was her treat, after a long day in the lab, or her room. It was not even that good, but they were just in the corner.
And now, this pregnant lady level craving is driving her mad.
Until.
Until one day her half italian girlfriend after putting the house upside down, welcomed her with an home made caramael coffee with homemade vegan whipped creame.
Every flowers blossom in Gotham in an instant.
(Batman is coming quickly because it's 23rd december and Ivy just gives him a cup and he seats, and they're happy)

Snatching a few seconds to gasp in a breath as the madness of the morning rush died down, Aelin wiped her hands on her apron and brushed loose strands of hair away from her face. She washed her hands quickly and returned to the coffee bar just as Lysandra stuck her head into the back room and hollered for her.
"Calm down, Lyssie!" Aelin yelled back, laughing. "I'm right here."
"Someone asked for you," Lys singsonged, wiggling her brows aggressively.
Aelin rolled her eyes. "You'd think we were fifteen, not twenty-three."
"We're so mature." Lys smirked and bumped her hip into Aelin's. "Now go take your man's order."
Aelin strolled up to the counter, grinning as she met Rowan's bright, amused gaze. "Hey. What can I get you?"
"Well, since you aren't on the menu, I'll take a cappuccino." The slow wink he gave her did bad, bad things to her heartbeat.
She lowered her lashes and peeked up, tucking her bottom lip between her teeth the way she knew drove her boyfriend wild. "I'm all up for grabs at four, you know."
"Oh, I know." He smirked as he pulled his credit card from his wallet. She tapped in his order, and he paid and sauntered down to wait by the pick-up window.
"You should put special art on his cappuccino," Lys said as she finished up the iced lattes she was working on.
"Like a heart? Bitch, please."
"Oh no." Lys's smirk turned positively wicked. "A dick."
"Lysandra Ennar!" Aelin yelped, swatting the brunette with a towel. "What the hell?!"
"Bitch, you know you want to." Lys's eyebrow wiggle returned, even more aggressive than earlier. "You could even draw it to scale."
Aelin laughed so hard she had to brace her hands on the countertop to keep herself upright. "Holy shit, Lys!" She wheezed as she caught her breath. "Alright. Watch this." She sped through the motions of pulling the espresso shot and steaming up some milk, and then she carefully cradled the ceramic cup in her left hand and began pouring the steamed milk with her right.
When the foam rose to the top, she carefully turned the mug, made a sort of sideways heart shape, and dragged the point of the heart downwards. Then she rotated the mug, and, starting from the point of the upside-down heart, poured a careful pattern of foam in a precise, nearly straight line with a slight wobble. She finished off the crown with a little blob, artfully smearing it so it looked like, well...
"Someone's happy to see you," Lys snickered.
Aelin cackled as she set down the cappuccino. "Ro, love, here's your drink." She spun the cup so that the thick, long dick painted in white foam stood erect.
"Thanks, Ae--what the fuck?!" Rowan spluttered, gaping at the drink. His tan face flushed an endearingly bright shade of crimson, his eyes darting rapidly between the dick-uccino and Aelin's bright, wicked grin.
"Not quite large enough for you, love?"
"Aelin," he groaned, dropping his head into his hands and scrubbing at his blushing face. "No, it's the perfect size."
She snickered. "Good to know. I have quite the model." Her gaze flicked south.
He laughed as he grabbed a stir stick and stirred his cappuccino, dissolving her work of art. "Don't think you've heard the last of this, love." Heat simmered in his eyes.
"Is that a promise?"
Rowan's stare, blazingly hot, snapped to hers. "When you're begging me to let you come, love, just remember this--you got me hard in a very public place." He strolled off to a table, leaving her flushed and speechless behind the bar.
Well.
Damn.

one of my favourite things about Quinn (along with, you know, everything else) is the fact that he either doesn't have any Distinctives or can suppress them so well that Eliot could mistake him for a harmless photographer
the main reason i love this fact about him is all the potential alternate-meeting AUs where Eliot doesn't initially know that Quinn is a hitter (x), and all the resulting shenanigans that could ensue (x)
Anyway, another idea along these lines:
Quinn at some point helped another hitter get out of the game, and now co-owns a coffee shop with this ex-hitter friend. He crashes with this friend whenever he's so injured that it will take more than a couple weeks to heal, because they're the only person he trusts to watch his back who also has an actual place and not just a scattering of safe-houses around the world
When this happens, once he's sufficiently healed up (but not enough to get back to his usual work), his friend puts him to work at the coffee shop, helping make coffee and bake pastries and smile creepily at any customer who's being creepy to the employees.
(The employees don't know that he's also a co-owner, and think he's just the owner's weird (but harmless) friend.)
During one of these periods, towards the end of it, when Quinn's about ready to leave, he is totally shocked to see none other than Eliot fucking Spencer walk into the coffee shop.
See, Eliot's working a longer job with minimal violence in the same town (either pre-canon or a Leverage job) and decides to patronize the only local coffeeshop that isn't a chain.
He's relieved to find that it's a nice place--better coffee than he expected in a town like this. The barista reacted a little weirdly to him when Eliot first showed up, but he has been friendly enough after that initial awkwardness, if a little forward with the flirting. Not that Eliot minds the flirting--the guy's easy on the eyes, and if Eliot's going to be stuck in this boring town for a long job with not-enough-punching, he might as well have his fun.
(The barista has to field an angry call from the owner at some point--they apparently don't like it when the employees flirt with customers (though based on Quinn's side of the conversation, maybe it's Eliot specifically the owner had a problem with? it's not clear))
but while Quinn has some choice words to say about the owner of the coffee-shop after that particular argument (the phrase "employee abuse" comes up along side words like "wet blanket" and "paranoid"), they're said affectionately, so Eliot doesn't feel the need to intervene)
It comes to a head when the job turns out to be not as low-violence as Eliot thought, and despite Eliot's best efforts, what amounts to a private army comes after him and the poor barista gets pulled into the violence
It turns out, the barista doesn't mind. At all.
(Once they're fighting the bad guys, it's clear that Quinn is nursing a several-week-old injury, but it doesn't seem to slow him down much, and wow, Eliot hadn't expected to find a hitter of his own caliber working as a barista in a town like this, but damn is he grateful for the help)
(the coffee-shop owner calls after the initial bout of violence specifically to say "I told you so", but, eh, they owed Quinn one anyway, and Eliot and Quinn are too busy dealing with the rest of the bad guys to pay much attention)
(Also maybe at some point, the other coffee-shop owner shows up to help (only to make sure the coffee-shop doesn't get more damaged and for no other reason, so they insist when Quinn teases them about it), and they're an old frenemy of Eliot's who Eliot thought died years ago.)

It's possible that I posted this one already
What about a coffee shop au, where Alec is so mesmerized by the barista (Magnus), that at first he doesn't get a word out. And then Magnus smiles and is like: "What can I get you, pretty boy?" And Alec is so flustered that he just says the first thing that catches his eyes on the menu. He hates the drink. But when he gets back the next day, and Magnus is there and asks if he wants the same as yesterday, all Alec can do is nod, because Magnus remembered him and what he had to drink and called him pretty boy again. Alec ends up drinking that thing he hates a lot. It's not until their nth date/wedding/Wedding anniversary that Alec confesses he doesn't like that drink.

9-1-1 on Fox | Buddie | 5k words | Coffee Shop AU | alternative first meeting, fluff, getting together, first kiss, meet-cute
Written for @ronordmann's Reverse Prompt Challenge. Thank you so much Ro for inspiring me to try writing something out of my comfort zone with this fic <3
"Order for Evan!"
If ever Buck was to die of happiness it would be in this moment. For hours he has been craving, yearning for some sort of hot, sugary drink. It started with a call to a chocolate factory and ended with an empty milk carton in the firehouse refrigerator and an apologetic look on Chimney's face.
As soon as Buck got off his forty-eight-hour shift he had made a beeline for the nearest cafe. It was not his usual, he would typically stop at the coffee shop closer to his apartment on his way to work, but this place wasn't busy and Buck is desperate for a sugar hit.
It's because he's so desperate that Buck is taking the first mouthful as he's walking out of the store.
He anticipates the smooth cream and sweet syrup, the spice of cinnamon to balance it all out but the mouthful slides over his tongue like hot, bitter tar and lands in the bottom of his stomach like a rock.
"God–what the?" He sticks his tongue out and tries to rid his mouth of the taste. That is definitely not the coffee that he ordered.
For a brief moment, Buck considers that maybe the universe just knew that he actually wanted black coffee but then decides that that's stupid and the universe is wrong this time because he definitely really wanted the drink he thought he ordered.
So, against every ex-hospitality worker fiber of his being, he turns back to the counter and gets the attention of the barista that served him 'his' drink.
"Hi there," he starts as brightly as he can for seven o’clock in the morning. "I'm so sorry to do this but I think you've given me the wrong drink. I ordered a caramel latte with cinnamon but this is, well, black."
"Oh!" The barista looks shocked for a second as he checks the order dockets on the counter in front of her. "I'm so sorry, I must have–."
"Given him mine." An unfamiliar voice sounds from next to Buck and when he turns he finds what is potentially the most beautiful man in all of the greater Los Angeles area.
The barista nods. "Yes, I'm so sorry. I will remake them both right away."
The man eyes Buck's outstretched hand oddly before saying, "No need." He looks at Buck and Buck's sleep-deprived brain almost gets lost in the chocolate of his eyes. "Do you have any diseases I should know about?"
Buck stops short. "I'm–. What?"
"Diseases." The man says—like that it is a normal thing to ask a stranger. "Are you contagious or anything? I'm in a rush."
"Ah, no. I don't think so."
"Good. I'll just take this one then." And then he reaches for the coffee that is not Buck's coffee but is in Buck's hand and Buck is too baffled to do anything but let him take it. The man disappears from the cafe and Buck is left standing at the counter with his arm still outstretched towards the barista who looks just as confused but shakes herself out of it faster than Buck does.
"I'll remake yours now." He says briskly. "Won't be a minute."
"Ah, yeah. Thanks." Buck mumbles dumbly and turns to see the man's retreating back disappear around the corner.
The barista hands him a new cup a few moments later along with a five-dollar bill, obviously intending to refund him for the mistake, but he tucks it straight into her tip jar, thank you kindly, and then leaves, the bell ringing behind him as he goes.
